A Fleming County native, Molly Gene Crain is a 4th generation co-owner of the Crain Family Farm in Flemingsburg. Molly and her husband Robbie currently live in the neighborhood of Meadowthorpe, in Lexington. Molly grew up with two agricultural legacies on both sides of her family: Crain’s Tobacco Warehouse in Maysville, and the Lexington Bluegrass Stockyards. Molly filed to run for this seat the very first day possible in November 2023.

Prior to launching her campaign for State Senate, Molly clerked for Franklin Circuit Court Judge Philip Shepherd after graduating from the University of Kentucky J. David Rosenberg College of Law in 2022. Since launching her campaign last November, Molly is now a graduate of the Emerge Kentucky training program, as well as a certified yoga teacher.
Very familiar with the ins-and-outs of non-profit work, Molly was Deputy Executive Director of Emerge Kentucky, as well as Communications and Volunteer Coordinator for Kentucky Voices for Health. In addition to her law degree, Molly holds a Master’s degree in Communication, Culture & Technology from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., and attended Transylvania University for undergrad where she interned for Congressman Ben Chandler.
Molly has spent her life serving the many communities she holds close. From the farms of Flemingsburg to the future of women across Kentucky, she spends every day working to make our shared Commonwealth better for the next generation.
